STEP 1: LOOK AT A PIECE FROM THE PAT CLARK ART COLLECTION
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Title “Portrait of Pat”
Artist: Anne Grant-Morris
16” x 22”
This piece relates to my 75th birthday. It’s a portrait of me, an oil painting, done by my friend, Anne Grant-
Morris, who is English and now lives in France. My good friend, Carman Cunningham who lives in Melbourne,
Australia, commissioned Anne Grant-Morris to do this portrait of me as a surprise. It’s taken from a
photograph that my brother, Don, took back in 1980 when he and my sister-in-law, Mary, visited me in Paris.
Carman arranged for this painting because she felt there should be a portrait of me with the collection. The
picture shows me in a French restaurant with a rose, a glass of red wine, and candlelight. I’m obviously very
happy, and I was, because my brother and sister-in-law were visiting me. It was a wonderful surprise birthday
present.
